An in-depth record of DevCAFE’s programmes, impact, and growth from 2017 to 2025
This first progress report of Yayasan The Development CAFE documents our work from 2017 to 2025. It provides a consolidated overview of programmes delivered during this period and summarises how DevCAFE has worked across research, technology-enabled development, and institutional capacity strengthening. By consolidating programme information across 2017 to 2025, the report provides an accessible record that can support organisational learning, partner engagement, and institutional accountability.
The report is structured around our three pillars, Research for Development, Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D), and Capacity Building. Within these areas, the report documents the types of work we have undertaken between 2017 and 2025, including analytical studies, independent evaluations, advisory assignments, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Reflecting on this period of work provides a foundation for planning the next phase of DevCAFE’s initiatives. Serving not only as a record of past work, this report provides a reference for understanding how DevCAFE has evolved over time. By making our experiences and insights publicly accessible, we aim to contribute to knowledge-sharing within the sector and strengthen collaboration with partners who share our commitment to evidence-based and technology-enabled development.
Building on these achievements, in 2026 and beyond, DevCAFE intends to build upon its achievements by strengthening research and institutional capacities, leveraging emerging technologies, and expanding partnerships with higher-education institutions, international networks, and the private sector.
At the same time, the organisation will remain deeply committed to community-led development, investing in local initiatives and ensuring that innovation is grounded in the realities, needs, and perspectives of the communities it serves. These strategies aim to translate lessons learned to date into meaningful impact while sustaining a knowledge-driven, evidence-based, and locally rooted approach to development.
