ABOUT US
Powered by People, Guided by Purpose.
Turning local insights into action.
The Development CAFE, founded in 2001, is a collaborative knowledge, global collective of researchers, evaluators, technologists, and development practitioners dedicated to advancing inclusive, ethical, and evidence-driven solutions for international development.
Founded with a vision to bridge grassroots and policy. The Development CAFE blends rigorous methodologies with innovative technologies — bringing the power of AI, machine learning, and digital tools to the forefront of development practice long before it was a trend.
Mission for Change
Modeled after the spirit of historic British coffee houses, which functioned as knowledge spaces, we believe that meaningful change is fueled by open dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of bold ideas. Our vibrant network spans Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, offering locally rooted, globally connected expertise that empowers organizations to drive sustainable and impactful change. We are registered as an NGO in Kenya, India, and Indonesia with liaison offices in Zambia, Jordan, Mongolia and the Philippines. The liaison offices is self-governed and decentralized model.
Empowering Communities Through Collaborative Innovation.
We bridge the gap between grassroots initiatives and policymakers, empowering NGOs and vulnerable communities while enhancing the capacities of government bodies. Our multidisciplinary approach combines research, technology, and training to drive impactful change. At The Development CAFE, development is not just a project — it’s a conversation, a movement, and a shared commitment to building a better, more just world.
